Keepin' on keepin' on
Wow, been a bit since doing a proper little blogposting! I know february's a short month, but it felt even shorter than it actually was to me this year. I guess I was pretty busy, haha. I got caught up in a bunch of marketing stuff for the game during the day-to-day (I'm, getting a professional trailer and key art!), and had a bunch of fun events to go to, so blogging kinda fell by the wayside I suppose. Super quick February summary go!
March is going well for me so far I'd say. Mostly a continuation of the above stuff, but it's all moving in a nice direction. I'm keeping busy getting ready to show off the game at the Toronto Game Expo at the end of the month, so I'm kinda figuring out how to set up a table and run demos and stuff. I think that'll be really cool! I've always only ever been on the customer/con-goer side when going to cons, so it'll be cool to see the behind the scenes kinda stuff there. On the art side, I've kinda fallen off the wagon (so to speak) on sketching/doodling. Just been busy with other hobbies, but it's still on my mind a bit! Wanna get back to that a little. Also, there's a growing pile of magic cards I gotta sort away into commander decks staring at me from next to my keyboard. My "work" (hobbies) shall never be truly finished.
As for fun events so far, I managed to gather some friends together for a tiki drink outing, and that was a lot of fun. I'm always a fan of the theming at those kinda bars, and the drinks were all pretty tasty. I got a rum-based drink with a burning sugar cube, and shared a couple shared drinks too, which were all pretty great. We stumbled over to a taco place afterwards to round out the night, and the tacos/tortas there were pretty excellent. Also, I hit up Dirty Rectangles again last Wednesday, and there were once again a bunch of cool presentations (including a spirited talk about grid-based wargaming).
For media consumptions, I kinda devoured the book "There Is No Anti Memetics Division" by qntm. I knew it was originally a collection of SCP stories, but I liked how the published work wove them together (and was impressed at how stripping the SCP specific stuff didn't really change it). Well worth a read if you're an SCP fan, or just like cool sci-fi horror. Still deep in the WoW and Mewgenics trenches too. I'm probably most of the way through Mewgenics now, almost ready to take on the final area, but there's a bit of grinding in the way (waiting for house bosses), so I'm just focusing on grabbing some more completion marks for each class. And for WoW, the new season starts up next Tuesday, so I'm sure I'll find myself in the weekly delve cycle soon enough.
So, yeah! That's March so far! Later gator!
