November!
I had a pretty solid November overall this year. It started off a bit crummy with a nasty headcold from travelling, but after that got all sorted out, the rest of the month was nice!
- I picked up and made some real solid progress on Hades 2, which continues to be what my non-tabletop gaming hobby is marinating in. I'm getting towards rolling the credits (probably), and I've still been having a blast. Definitely getting a bit of a preference for the daggers as my weapon of choice there, since I really like the extra backstab damage they provide.
- I got a good number of drafts in at the bar for weekly draft nights. I did miss one mid-month to go to a gamedev meetup, but otherwise I was able to keep up that hobby pretty well. Avatar's been a fun set to draft so far in person, and I did spend a whole weekend towards the end of the month drafting it online. It's definitely a bit more imbalanced in online play since Arena does league ranked play where you play against a lot more decks from outside your draft pod, but I'm able to go pretty far on a single $20 gem refill these days.
- My D&D campaign with friends got off to a nice start, and it seems like we're all having fun with it. I'm looking forward to squeezing in a one or two more sessions before people head out for the holidays.
- I went to a few nice concerts this month too! I went to see Evvie at the Monarch Tavern, LVGO (playing Deltarune/Undertale Jazz arrangements) at Hugh's Room, and I got to see TWRP as the house band for a bunch of cool talks at Generator in Massey Hall. Lots of good live entertainment this month for me.
- I re-upped on my seasonal flu/covid shots, which kinda put me out of commission for a weekend in there, but was good to do.
- I managed to keep up with this blog pretty well, giving it a bit of a visual refresh and some new hobby-specific sections as well as a guestbook. I might add some more hobby sections if I really wanna fragment the site some more!
- I made some solid progress on doing some marketing for my game. We'll see if anything comes of it, but I submitted to a few festivals and made some dank tiktok memes to cross post all over the place. Also, a bit more polish and stuff too. That's also important.
- I grew a very itchy moustache for charity. I won't spam out that link here, but I did raise a bit of cash for men's health, so that's pretty neato.
- The usual day-to-day was pretty nice too. Nothing to really write about, but life's pretty solid for me right now.
Looking back at it, I had a pretty busy November! Lots of real good stuff in there. Seems like December's gonna bit a bit chiller, with fewer shows and some time with family for the holidays, so I'm glad I was able to make the most of last month.
